My Work With The Wisconsin Herd 

Minor League Storytelling In a Major Way

Digital & Social Success

During my time with the Wisconsin Herd, all of the team's digital channels have seen year-over-year incremental growth. As the lead storyteller and Creative Director, I have used my strong creative direction skills to grow my team and produce the highest-quality content and have increased team’s Instagram following by 25 percent, Facebook page likes by 40 percent, Facebook page following by 42 percent, and Twitter followers by 45 percent, consistently ranking top 10 in the league in engagement and impressions on a monthly basis; increased email marketing opt-ins by 51 percent. Social plays an instrumental role in how fans engage with a sports brand, and my creativity, data-driven mindset has allowed the Herd to consistently land top ten in engagement and impressions every month.

Retail Success & Innovation

During my time with the Wisconsin Herd, I have taken ownership of our retail space and oversee all aspects of promotion, planning, inventory management. When we learned the Wisconsin Herd would not be participating in the 2020-21 NBA G League bubble, I knew that retail would be a key area to drive revenue in the digital space. As such, I developed a planning calendar to figure out what new retail activation we could highlight that showcased us, our parent club and keep us top of mind in the digital space.

 

Specific offers that came to life include a bundle highlighting the Wisconsin Herd's best record, a back-to-school youth pack and mystery boxes during the NBA Playoffs to promote the Herd's parent club, the Milwaukee Bucks. During this time, I have also led building the team's e-commerce platform to support these initiatives and have generated over $17,000 with these new retail offerings in two seasons.

Herd Together

Community Relations 

Weaving the community into the team's digital marketing efforts is a key measure of success for the team and department and plays a big role in how the team is viewed in the marketplace. My department is responsible for promoting this major sponsor and community activation piece and we have raised over $30,000 in two seasons for local non-profits through the team's jersey auction. During our 2021-22 season, we used our jersey auction to celebrate Greek Independence Day, local student artists in our community with our first-ever art jersey night and the City of Oshkosh. This season's campaign was "Herd Together" after not playing in the 2020-21 NBA G League bubble and this community jersey auction is a prime example of how we ensured our community remained at the forefront of what we do from marketing perspective.

Creative Direction In Action

Leading photography and visual storytelling is a key element of my role. Aligning the Herd's look within the Milwaukee Bucks brand while delivering our own fresh look is a challenge I enjoy every day. From internal and external print projects to digital billboards to giveaways, I have a strong understanding of design, visual branding and how to create an appealing look in the marketplace for our franchise, sponsors and other stakeholders.
